Practical Christmas Gifts for Everyone

The BER months have begun! Happily, I can smell some delicious food, feel the cool breeze, and am eager to go gift shopping and wrapping. Aren’t you? On the other hand, the economic impact of the pandemic was devastating to all of us. As a result of this effect, we are forced to make drastic changes in spending our money.

In our case, because my partner and I live overseas, we began purchasing holiday gifts in June! And we intend to ship our box via cargo in October. So, we hope that our family and friends back home in the Philippines will be delighted to receive their Christmas gifts in December this year or earlier.

Christmas gifts do not have to be extravagant. Why not, if you have the extra cash? But, other than that, what matters is, our Christmas gifts should be practical, usable, and can efficiently help the receiver, especially at this time of year.

So, let me share a list of Christmas gifts that I have gathered that are practical, usable, and can effectively help the receiver YET, are affordable, and would not break your piggy bank too much!

1. Cleaning Materials

Cleaning materials are extremely practical and helpful as Christmas gifts this year. Why? Sadly, COVID-19 is not going away anytime soon. And one of the most efficient ways to combat this coronavirus is to keep our homes, surroundings, and community in general clean.

Since my partner and I experienced COVID-19 firsthand, keeping our tiny apartment is one of our priorities! I always make sure that our disinfectants are refilled promptly. So, if someone will gift me some household cleaning materials, I would be pleased!

Other cleaning supplies would be beneficial too—for instance, glass and multi-surface cleaners, rubber gloves, all-purpose cleaners, and antibacterial spray or wipes. I’m sure moms would appreciate these because they want to ensure that their babies and children are safe at home in a clean environment.

2. Shower Gels

Shower gels or body wash are another practical Christmas gift. They pique my interest. I adore the aroma of berries, kiwi, passion fruits, and other fruity and sweet notes. You can find shower gels in grocery stores and some health, wellness, and body shops.

Many of us experience a lot of stress these days due to a variety of factors. For example, at work, school, and so on. So, having a good shower or bath time is one of the best strategies for getting some relaxation and removing some tension. Shower gels can help anyone relieve stress by providing a soothing smoothness in the body while taking a bath. Not to mention the fragrant fumes it emits.

So, get someone a shower gel! =]

3. Kitchen Gadgets

Okay, kitchen gadgets may seem pricey to you, but they make excellent Christmas gifts. One of the life lessons that has been highlighted since 2020 is the importance of staying as healthy as possible. There’s no better way to combat a virus than to keep our bodies healthy and prepared for any viral attacks.

Kitchen gadgets that inspire and encourage healthy eating habits are ideal—for instance, an air fryer, a portable fruit juicer or blender, a fresh herb keeper, a vegetable steamer, ball mason jars, and so on.

4. Spices and Condiments

This year, spices and condiments make excellent Christmas gifts. Especially for those, you know who have extremely limited financial resources. You can also include some grocery items to replenish their pantry. Because of the pandemic, many of us lost our jobs or had our work hours reduced by more than half. Our leaders’ policies may change from time to time based on the data they receive. And some of their decisions affected our jobs.

I believe that giving someone spices, condiments, and groceries for their pantry would be highly beneficial at this time. Christmas is a time for reflection, sharing, and bringing hope. Our small contributions can make a big difference.

5. Aromatic Candles or Incense

Aromatic candles and or incense are also perfect Christmas gifts. As I previously stated, most of us are currently experiencing various forms of tension. Scented candles and incense can thus aid someone in their me-time.

6. Online Courses

Online courses come in different types, so they are also practical Christmas gifts. You can gift online courses to someone based on their personality or hobbies. Udemy is one of the sites where I buy my online courses. They offer a wide range of courses that are beneficial to everyone, from students to professionals. Believe it or not, they can be purchased for as little as $10.

Tip: Before purchasing any online courses, discuss them with the recipient. It’s a good idea to buy a course that will allow them to advance their skills, interests, or hobbies.

7. Gift Vouchers

Gift vouchers are also practical Christmas presents. Vouchers that can buy groceries, pay bills, visit a spa, or visit a salon are fantastic. Giving your loved ones time to themselves is a beautiful way to show your appreciation.

8. Subscription Vouchers

Subscription vouchers are also the perfect Christmas gift! It can be a month’s pay voucher, six months, or a year. Of course, it depends on your budget—simple subscriptions like Netflix, online security software, data service, discount vouchers, and so on.

9. Gadget accessories

You can also include gadget accessories on your Christmas gifts list. Because both young and older adults use social media, there may be a plethora of gadget accessories available for purchase as a gift.

A quick hint! Find out what your recipients’ jobs, interests, and hobbies are! For example, do they have a passion for photography? Are they in the kitchen? Are they content creators on social media or aspiring content creators? Do they have a car? What are their favorite pastimes? What are their gizmos?

My Takeaway!

The spirit of Christmas is indeed in the air! The BER months have begun, and many bargains and sales will be available soon! When purchasing a Christmas gift, keep in mind that it should be practical, helpful, and inspiring to the recipient. It doesn’t have to be fancy yet; of course, if you can afford an expensive one that will truly delight the recipient, that is greatly appreciated.
