5 Easy Things Christians To Do More

It’s easy to say, “I’m Christian and a believer of the Lord, Jesus Christ.” But honestly, it’s harder to put these words into action, showing that we’re real Christians. So, it’s practical that as Christ-followers, we shall do our best and have a strong commitment to do something that will mirror Christ in us.

Philippians 4:13 stated, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”  This passage reminds us to have the initiative in doing things that can inspire and motivate ourselves and others because Christ gives us the never-ending support and strengths to ACT.  That being said, I have listed five simple acts that we Christians must do more.

5 Easy Things Christians To Do More

1. Constantly Reading the Bible

Cliché but highly significant. At times as Christians, we may feel backsliding or having a barrier between us and God’s presence. Sometimes we tend to get off-track and feel confused. These are some consequences of being slack in terms of reading the Bible.  Keep in mind that the Bible is the key to know God Almighty and His will.

Matthew 4:4 stated that “Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out through the mouth of God.” Regularly reading the Bible means your soul is being fed off the Word of God.

To be healthy and fit, we physically eat food like fruits, vegetables, meat, and so on.  The same goes for our soul. For us to be on track, nurture our inner thoughts, control our actions, and be more Christ-like, we need to feed our soul by the Word of God.  And this is through continually reading the Bible.

2. Participate in a Bible Study

To support our number one action, it is also recommended for us to participate in a Bible study.  Most Christians today say they are busy doing errands. Busy at work. Don’t have time and so on.  It’s essential to keep in mind that Jesus Christ is our source of eternal life, and for us to attain eternal life, we need to continuously seek and study the Scriptures.

If we participate in a Bible study, we’ll learn the total truth necessary for Christian living. We’ll have a fantastic guideline on how to deal with the ups and downs of life. Psalm 119:98 stated thatYour commandments make me wiser than my enemies, for they are ever mine.” This passage is a testimony that the knowledge that you’ll gain through participating in a Bible study can give you great wisdom.

An article which I read stated that there are eight (8) benefits of Bible study and these are the following:

  • By the Word of God that we can get our faith.
  • If we’re going astray, the Word of God corrects us.
  • If we’re ignorant, the Word of God teaches us.
  • The Bible gives us generous and loving thoughts of God and makes our hearts tender toward Him.
  • To know Jesus Christ better, read the Bible.
  • To pray with increased faith and power, read the Bible.
  • To speak to the hearts of saints and sinners with more effect, read the Bible.
  • To hold out faithful up to the end of times, read the Bible.

3. Prayers for Others

You might ask why to pray for others? That’s also my question. James 5:16 stated that “Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.”  This passage tells us the importance of praying for one another.  God Almighty lends His ears to His children who call for Him collectively.

Also, Matthew 5:43-45 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.”  See how important prayer for others? Jesus himself says in this passage that even our neighbors and enemies we must love and pray for them because God Almighty will hear and bless us.

4. Practice Tolerance

Tolerance is significant in how people can live together peacefully.  At times, we, as Christians, put the incorrect stigma to other religions, and we tend to close our minds in understanding their beliefs in faith.  This behavior can result in severe “social hostilities,” involving faith and religion issues.

To counter that, Ephesians 4:2 stated that “With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love…” This passage means to practice tolerance with one another.  Remember that being tolerant means that you accept others’ opinions and preferences, even when they live in a way that you completely do not agree with.

Also, John 12:47 – “If anyone hears my words and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world.”   Clearly that Jesus himself says that he’ll not judge people who don’t listen to his teachings.  It’s a clear example of practicing tolerance.

5. Find Your Spiritual Gift and Utilize

1 Corinthians 12:7 – “To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.”   In this passage, it is understood that each of us has a revealed Spiritual Gift; all we must do is find it.  We can be a church choir, a preacher, a volunteer to the community, a teacher, whatsoever.  The importance is once we have found that Spiritual Gift, utilize it to inspire and motivate others.  Let our light shine to others so they will learn about God and His will too.  And how can we find this? Remember number one and two actions. Read the Bible and Participate in a Bible Study.  If we seek, we will definitely find it.

My Takeaway!

As a Christian believer, I understand that we must do more for our Lord God Almighty. Doing more is nurturing our relationship with God. I hope that I have cast light on sharing with you the 5 Easy Things Christians To Do More in Christian living. Honestly, I know that these can be hard at some point, but then again, it’s all about our willingness and dedication. Remember that our goal is to be near in the proximity of our God Almighty and inspire others to seek Him. Appreciate your time for reading, and GOD bless us all!
