5 Things Christians To Do More

“I’m a Christian and a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ,” it’s simple to say. But, to be honest, it’s difficult to put these words into action and demonstrate that we’re true Christians. So, as Christ-followers, we must do our best and make a solid commitment to do something that reflects Christ in us.

Philippians 4:13 stated, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”  This passage encourages us to take the lead in doing things that can inspire and motivate ourselves and others because Jesus equips us with his teachings of unending support, inspiration, and strength to ACT. That being said, I’ve collected a list of 5 easy acts that Christians should do more of.

5 Things Christians To Do More

1. Constant Bible Reading

It’s a cliché, but it’s highly significant. As Christians, we may experience backsliding or a barrier between us and God’s presence at times. We have a tendency to get off track and become confused at times. These are some of the consequences of not constantly reading the Bible.

This has happened to me several times, and it’s a humiliating feeling. But consider the times that God has given us each and every day. He never missed a shot. To combat this, I usually make a schedule and strive to stick to it. For example, if I can’t read, I would listen to audiobooks instead of listening to music in the background while working. Keep in mind that the Bible is the key to comprehending GOD and HIS will.

Matthew 4:4 stated that “Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out through the mouth of God.” Reading the Bible regularly means that your soul is being fed by God’s Word.

We eat foods like fruits, vegetables, meat, and so on to stay healthy and fit. The same is true for our souls. To stay on track, nurture our inner thoughts, control our actions, and become more Christ-like, we must feed our soul with God’s Word. And this is achieved by reading the Bible regularly.

2. Take part in a Bible study

It is also suggested that we participate in a Bible study to supplement our number one action. Most Christians today claim to be preoccupied with errands. Work is keeping me busy. I don’t have time; I need to complete this, and so forth. It is important to remember that Jesus Christ is our source of eternal life– his teachings. So, it’s practical if we constantly seek and study the scriptures.

We will learn the truth required for Christian living if we participate in a Bible study. How? Our brothers and sisters can share their testimonies with us, which can help to lift our spirits. We can help each other! We can strengthen our beliefs and enlighten one another.

Psalm 119:98 stated that “Your commandments make me wiser than my enemies, for they are ever mine.” This passage demonstrates how the knowledge you will gain from participating in a Bible study can provide you with great wisdom.

An article which I read stated that there are eight (8) benefits of Bible study and these are the following:

  • By God’s Word, we can get our faith.
  • If we’re going astray, God’s Word corrects us.
  • If we’re ignorant, God’s Word teaches us.
  • The Bible gives us generous and loving thoughts of God and makes our hearts tender toward Him.
  • To know Jesus Christ’s teachings and message better, read the Bible.
  • To pray with increased faith and power, read the Bible.
  • To speak to the hearts of saints and sinners with more effect, read the Bible.
  • To hold out faithful up to the end of times, read the Bible.

3. Pray for Others

You may wonder why you should pray for others. That is also my question.

James 5:16 stated that “Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.” This passage emphasizes the significance of praying for one another. God lends His ears to His children who collectively call for Him. God hears an upright man. So, if he prays for you, you will undoubtedly be blessed.

Also, Matthew 5:43-45 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.”  See how important prayer for others? Jesus himself says in this passage that even our neighbors and enemies we must love and pray for them because God will hear and bless us if we do.

4. Practice Tolerance

Tolerance is significant in how people can live together peacefully.  At times, we, as Christians, put the incorrect stigma to other religions, and we tend to close our minds in understanding their beliefs in faith.  This behavior can result in severe “social hostilities,” involving faith and religion issues.

To counter that, Ephesians 4:2 stated that “With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love…” This passage means to practice tolerance with one another.  Remember that being tolerant means that you accept others’ opinions and preferences, even when they live in a way that you completely do not agree with.

Also, John 12:47 – “If anyone hears my words and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world.”   Clearly that Jesus himself says that he’ll not judge people who don’t listen to his teachings.  It’s a clear example of practicing tolerance.

5. Find Your Spiritual Gift and Utilize

1 Corinthians 12:7 – “To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.”   In this passage, it is understood that each of us has a revealed Spiritual Gift; all we must do is find it.  We can be a church choir, a preacher, a volunteer to the community, a teacher, whatsoever.  The importance is once we have found that Spiritual Gift, utilize it to inspire and motivate others.  Let our light shine to others so they will see! So, they would have the chance in learning about God and His will too.  And how can we find this Spiritual Gift? Remember number one and two actions. Read the Bible and take part in a Bible study.  If we seek, we will definitely find it.

To Wrap Up

As a believer and a follower of Jesus, I understand that we must do more for our Lord GOD. Doing more helps to strengthen our relationship with GOD. I hope to shed some light on the 5 Things Christians Do More in Christian living with you.

To be honest, I understand that these can be difficult at times, but it all comes down to our willingness and dedication. Remember that our goal is to be close to our GOD and inspire others to seek HIM too. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and may GOD bless us all!
