10 Things Every Traveler Should Bring

Who doesn’t travel? According to World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), a study in September 2018 showed an increase of 7% in total international tourist arrivals around the world and an increase of 5% total international tourist receipts! That is 1,326 million in numbers and USD 1,340 billion worth, respectively. That’s a WOW!

Travel is more than we can imagine!

When you travel, it’s given to bring monies, IDs, credit cards, phone, and cameras. Regardless if it’s a short or long journey. You’ll have these in your bag. But this list is a Traveler’s, Lifesaver! My friends and I are highly recommending you bring them when traveling!

10 Things Every Traveler Should Bring and Own!

Quick Snacks

Small snacks like oat bars, Fudgee bar, chocolate bar (sugar to keep you energetic)! Especially when you know that you need to keep yourself in the waiting line or long drive. I recently went here and there fixing some paper works. So, waiting in line to get my turn was my utmost job! It was not only a few minutes, but the longest waiting hour I experienced was 3.5 hours. That’s when I renewed my passport. Good thing I had a biscuit that I munched little by little to keep my spirit up along with some candies.

Water

This is the spouse of Snacks! Obviously, we don’t want to get thirsty. Water can delay hunger too! Water is special when traveling under the scorching heat of the sun. Water can save you from mess! There are times when public toilet rooms don’t have bidet spray, so bottled water is a lifesaver. Right?

Water is Life! 😊

Undies

Previously, I find it weird and funny knowing someone has extra undies in a bag. But it’s unquestionably a lifesaver! Of course, you always want to feel clean and fresh down there! You’ll never know that your visit to your friends’ place becomes an overnight stay. You’ll get stuck somewhere, so at least you can refresh yourself anytime that is needed. I personally have disposable undies (100% cotton, eco-friendly), which you can buy from the counter pharmacy or health and fitness department stores.

One funny story! A good friend of mine (Jen) always keeps her undies safe when traveling. It was her annual vacation, so she went to her home country. She kept all her undies in a different luggage case! On her way to the final exit gate, she noticed that that luggage case (specifically for undies) is missing! Guess what?! Her luggage full of undies was left in the connecting airport for some unexpected reason! Lol.

Lipstick (Cosmetics)

Yes! For my gorgeous ladies out there! I personally bring a red lippie—short or long travel. I want to look bright and sassy instead of looking exhausted, especially when I need to wait in line again! Besides wanting to look beautiful when taking selfies or groupies, I also noticed that wearing red lipstick gives you a sophisticated aura. Wearing red lippie attracts the opposite sex, but also people will give you a higher sense of respect.

Tissue (Wet and/or Dry)

This is a must-have to keep yourself tidy. You don’t want to look as if you came out from the gym looking sweaty all over. You can also use this to clean your shoe, bag, table, chair, pretty much everything. Especially when raining, it can help you dry up yourself and things. And oops! If you need to visit John! Absolutely a lifesaver!

First Aid Kit

A small handy traveling pouch that has meds in it! Very important! For headaches, stomachache, period pains, toothache, a name that ache! Instead of you running around looking for the nearest pharmacy, having a first aid kit ready in your bag is indeed a lifesaver machine. My kit includes a sanitary napkin; sometimes, ‘period’ visits you unexpectedly. You may also consider bringing insect repellent, especially for moms and dads who travel with their kids (type O blood) who are prone to insect bites.

Alcohol (Hand Sanitize)

I always bring alcohol for hand sanitizing. You tend to hold the dirtiest things when traveling, like money, cards, hand poles, banister, mobile phone, and a lot more. Certainly, you want to keep yourself secure from viruses and bacteria. Alcohol can help you disinfect any cuts and gashes too.

Eco Bag

This is helpful for you and friendly to our environment. My friend (Teejay) always brings an eco bag, especially when having a vacation and trip. It’s useful to put extra baggage or trash in it. Let’s promote ‘Clean as You Go’ everywhere we visit.

Shades

Sunglasses is a must-have for me. I live in a tropical country, and at times I travel in the middle east. So, Mr. Sun shines most of the time brightly. Shades protect your eyes against the sun’s UV rays, which could otherwise lead to cataracts. They also protect against “blue light” from the solar spectrum, which could increase your risk of macular degeneration.

Blankie

I love my blankie! It keeps me warm and safe when sleeping. So, when I have sleepovers or 2-3 days (or more) trip, I always bring my shawl as my blankie. Others bring socks in replace of this because socks keep you warm and tight at night. It is ideal during camping and sleeps outs too.

Smile (Bonus)

It’s a cost-less, most efficient, and effective lifesaver! When you travel you meet a different kind of walks of life. You meet different cultures, traditions, and backgrounds. The easiest way to connect and share common grounds is to give your humble and beautiful ‘Smile.’ Always have a light and bright spirit when traveling, especially when you drive! Road rage is on the rise. Spoiling a journey because of being hot-tempered and aggressive is a waste.

Keep smiling, enjoy the travel and spread love!
