Blood is Life
Blood is important because through it the Life of a creature. – Leviticus 17:11
I was diagnosed with an iron deficiency because of my hormonal condition, which caused me chronic bleeding. A year ago, I was confined in a government hospital in the middle east and was injected a total of 1,350 ccs of blood to recover from chronic anemia. It was an awful experience that led me to want to learn more about my blood. I realized that it would be best for me to know what to eat and what not to eat, and what to do to keep my iron levels stable.

Blood Groups, Antibodies and Antigens
The genes determine the blood group we inherit from our parents. There are four main blood groups – A, B, AB, and O.
I learned that I have type O+

Blood has four main components that sum up as a specialized fluid in our body. These are plasma, red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. Proteins found in the plasma are called Antibodies, and they fight against foreign substances which enter our body. They also alert our immune system to destroy them. On the other hand, Antigens are protein molecules found on the surface of red blood cells.
I’ve noticed that the bag showed O Rh Positive for my blood type. I wondered what that is. 🤔

It appears that each blood group has its own set of antibodies and/or antigens.
I belong to the most common blood group.
Did you know that receiving blood from the wrong ABO group can be life-threatening? For example, if somebody with group B blood is given group A blood, their anti-A antibodies will attack the group A cells. Thus, if a medical procedure includes blood transfusion, tremendous forms of tests are performed as required.
So, it’s best to know your loved one’s blood type in case of an emergency.
RH Blood Group System
Red blood cells may also contain another antigen, a protein known as the RhD antigen. If this is present, your blood group is RhD positive. If it’s absent, your blood group is RhD negative. That explained the plus sign in my blood typewritten on my form.
So, your blood can be one of eight blood groups:

Knowing what type of blood you have and which group you belong to is essential. Such information is a life-saver during medical emergencies. Who knows, you might end up saving someone’s life in the future! The same as my anonymous donor! May God continue to bless that person! I’m so grateful to have had my life extended because of the kindness of others.
Another advantage is that you will be aware of which foods are beneficial to your health.
