Deira Once My Second Home

Back in 2016 to 2018, I was based in Deira, Dubai UAE with my hubby. Deira is one of the most authentic Arabian places in the Middle East. Historically, Deira has been the commercial center of Dubai because it’s in the border of Persian Gulf. It has a small port called Port Saeed along Deira’s shore of Dubai Creek.

You will find some of the many dhow cruises and small shipping boats in Dubai. This is where we usually hang-out because of the sea breeze, variety of goods, tasty foods from different kind of restaurants, and diversified culture.

I felt home though I was not home when I was in Deira. I thought I will fall into what they called “homesickness” but in my surprise I never did. Aside of having my hubby with me, a lot of “kabayans” are there supporting each other. We always visit the market place called Old Souk Dubai where you will find all sort of spices and textiles. You get to experience to ride a one-dirham ancient boat public transportation of Dubai and see beautiful fireworks at night while you are in dhow cruise!

If you will visit Dubai, you must see Deira!

People from all sort of nationalities and walks of life will give you the warmness welcome!

Wherever you go, go with all your heart. —Confucius
